For All Gamers Out There

If you want to have a good time, maybe missed a couple of games from any of your next-gen consoles, I'd like to promote this youtuber channel: TheRadBrad. You can check out his channel, which has fluid gaming content, much clearer resolution game plays, and not-so-over-the-edge commentaries. see for yourself

Saturday, and I feel Thankful

broken guitar, waiting for help
How grateful am I that I get to spend the whole day chillin'. It's a blessing, just sitting at home, relaxed, though I don't feel going out, I know it's better to watch my spending. LOL. I prefer to be here, be a hermit, and away from all the hustle and bustle of a weekend street. Just listening to The National, a great probability it will be featured in my listening list, soon. Graci!

Trying to order a USB Keyboard, but Alas,

No stocks available. I've been trying to get hold of this keyboard for ages, but the problem is, response time from the seller keeps on getting delayed.
long awaited Dell USB SK-8115
A couple of weeks back, I tried asking for availability, and was expecting a positive feedback. Okay, so I should lower my expectations now. But this, it will be mine soon... hopefully this coming weeks, maybe. We shall see.

Post Crispy Fried - What Happened Afterwards ...

We had dinner, nice. We ate the crispy fried chicken (drumsticks), And we decided to skip eating crispy fried anything  for a month or as long as we can. Period.

Fried maybe good, every once in a while. yes. But, not every day. I'm no health expert, but I can sure feel those grease creep inside. I drank soda right after dinner that evening. Of course, over accumulated number of times, those grease will pile, which will eventually lead to health issues..

I was thinking of other options, and I remembered I bought some Mackerel in the fish market a couple of days back. Now there's a healthy answer!

Mackerel, I found this site which tackles all the great benefits of including this kind fish into your menu, check this link:

Great, so we have a wholesome option and budget friendly solution: Mackerel. No, we're not frying the Mackerel, we're cooking it with style.

We call this dish in Tagalog "Pasksiw"  and in visayan dialect "Inun-unan" - basically adding tamarind base or vinegar, into your lovely mackerel, and cooking it, with the right amount of water.

Cooking Mackerel in Tamarind or Vinegar soup is easy, and the choice of fish is good, since mackerels don't have a lot of sharp bones that can be distracting while eating. They have clean flesh (depends on how big you bought them), and should be cooked around . -  minutes tops. And, if you're having a hard  time looking for any Mackerels, any fish will do. Tuna, Blue Marlin, and others you can easily grab from a local fish market

Here's how to cook Inun-Unan

  • Lay fish in a pan, decide how many to serve
  • Massage each fish with a little amount of salt (just enough to add taste)
  • Add 5 tablespoons of Vinegar (or tamarind, whichever is available)
  • Add 1/4 cup water
  • Slice 5 cloves of garlic (any way you like, diced, minced, no harm done)
  • Add green chili (long ones), black peppers to taste
  • Cook for about 10 - 15 minutes
  • While it simmers, add 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • Let it simmer for another 5 minutes
  • Enjoy & have a sumptuous dinner!
Let me know your thoughts, or if you have more questions about the recipes, please feel free to ask.

Cheers!

Crispy Fried

(9:12 PM Philippine Standard Time)
Yes, that's the menu for tonight.. and for a change, or to be budget friendly, rather than eat outside, it's best (as decided by both parties, me & mariz) to cook. I can't say I'm the best cook, but I know how to.. I can and I do it because I am getting the hang of it - kidding.

Well I've been cooking since.. but just the basic Filipino dishes. Sometimes, if I feel like experimenting, I'd go vegetarian.. but NOT now, it's way too late, and I think this editing/blogging is nice: addictive, prone to make you too critical about what you do, you get to see time fly, but I'm enjoying it.

Bon appetit!

done with editing

okay, so I'm almost finished editing these details... and still, if you can believe this, i'm not hungry! the dinner is still waiting, and I am doomed. What will Mariz say to me...

Okay i better get going...

editing: adding all those details in a flash, was nice! kind of getting like a routine now. hmmm.. plus there's no links.. still got tons of things to do! (netbook is cooperating this time, how nice).. i'm using a gateway LT40.. with an upgraded OS... so.. there you guys go.

cooking tonight

Getting kinda late here: its now 7:12 PM Philippine Standard Time.. and I haven't even started cooking yet.. so many things to do all at once, plus the netbook stalling, using much of my time waiting for response..

I've been thinking of re-doing the whole netbook steup, and there's so many files at stake.. I guess these will just have to wait..

Going back with cooking, there's a frozen chicken waiting to be thawed, and marinated.. but i need to plan out the format for this blog first... so excuse me while i type away.. dinner has got to wait..
